The University College offers a comprehensive array of academic support services geared towards facilitating the smooth transition of first- and second-year students into the university environment. Through Academic Advising, Academic Success Coaching, Tutoring, Supplemental Learning, and a host of other resources, we aim to empower students to navigate their academic journey successfully. Our primary objective is to guide students towards timely graduation within four years while also nurturing their holistic development throughout their college experience.

The Academic Advisor provides academic advisement to NCCU’s University College constituents (first-year students, sophomores, and transfer students) through one-on-one meetings, workshops, and presentations on majors, degree requirements, academic progress, and course selection for future semesters. This position assesses individual student situations and circumstances to create, implement, and monitor students’ academic progress, retention, and holistic development, with support from internal/external organizations and resources that meet student needs.

The position supports the mission and vision of University College through cross collaboration with campus constituents, service on various committees, including orientation programs and campus events.
