Under limited supervision, performs administrative, record-keeping, educational, and technical work in instructing students in the classroom setting. Work involves preparing and delivering lectures within the appropriate department; maintaining appropriate accreditations for all programs; preparing, administering, and grading periodic assessments for all courses; maintaining records of student attendance as required by the North Carolina Community College System. Maintain documents as needed for enrollment of students.
Prepare and submit necessary documentation for continued accreditation. Offer assistance to students outside of class time and maintain office hours.
Teach Music-related courses and their associated labs online and in-person on BCC campus; prepare, administer, and grade periodic assessments and assignments; collect program assessment data; maintain accurate records of student attendance as required by BCC; serve as an academic advisor to students; and serve on college committees.
- Master’s degree in Music or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Music.
- Teaching experience at the college level
- Demonstration of excellent oral & written communication skills
- Demonstration of strong interpersonal skills with students
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment
- Ability to use Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), and Moodle
- Teaching experience at the community college level
- Experience with classroom technology
- Experience with outcome and program assessment
- Proficiency with Office 365, Moodle, and Zoom
- Academic advising experience and online teaching experience
