The OpportunityThe KIPP North Carolina Teaching Fellow role gives individuals the opportunity to try out teaching in a supportive environment. As a Teaching Fellow, you will work closely with Lead Teachers to provide students with a rigorous and joyful education, ensuring all children reach their full potential—whether that’s leading small‑group instruction or covering for an absent Lead Teacher.
Responsibilities- Support curriculum development and instruction: adapt and execute rigorous, standards‑aligned curricula, assist teachers with lesson plans, rubrics, and assessments, provide daily feedback to students, and receive guidance from ELA/Math teachers on supporting struggling students.
- Help build a positive school and classroom culture: embody and maintain the school’s values, policies, and culture; develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff; establish strong communication with families; attend critical school events including staff meetings, open houses, conferences; support school operations through classroom coverage and other out‑of‑classroom activities.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset: pursue challenging professional goals each year, give and receive constructive feedback, and participate in school‑wide and individual professional development.

Gaston: $39,000

- Hours are M, Th, & F 7:30 am – 3:30 pm;
Tu & W 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. - Curriculum, materials, and resources are provided.
- Each month teachers have Teacher Work Days that include professional development, data analysis, and other important information to push students’ learning forward.
