PositionSummary
Reporting to the Undergraduate Teaching and Learning Librarian, the Undergraduate Instruction Librarian supports core instruction and research programs for incoming undergraduate students. This three-year, time-limited position schedules instruction requests, designs and delivers information-literacy sessions to the First‑Year Writing Program, collaborates with course instructors, and provides research consultations. The librarian also trains and mentors graduate instructors from the School of Information and Library Science and engages undergraduate students through outreach events and campus partnerships.
The position is primarily on-site and may occasionally require night or weekend work. A hybrid work arrangement is possible for part of the schedule.
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of experience; or a combination of related education and experience may be considered.
Required Qualifications , Competencies, and Experience- Master’s degree in library science from an ALA‑accredited program or equivalent.
- Experience teaching or providing library instruction and user-centered research services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.
- Familiarity with instructional technologies and online learning platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Coursework in education.
- Experience working with high-school students or first-year students.
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
- Ability to move office and event supplies, with or without accommodations.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. The librarian will report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training on reporting responsibilities.
