Duke University's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a Co-curricular Program Manager to support the Duke Technology Scholars (DTech) program—one of Duke's signature initiatives connecting students to technology careers through mentorship, experiential learning, and community building. In this role, you'll help shape meaningful student experiences that bridge academics and real-world technology pathways. You'll help grow and sustain a vibrant community of students, alumni, mentors, faculty, and industry professionals while creating opportunities for mentorship, leadership development, professional growth, and career exploration.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a highly visible program while helping students build confidence, develop professional skills, and explore emerging fields like AI, cybersecurity, and data science.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3 years of relevant experience in program administration, student affairs, experiential learning, career development, higher education, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with students, alumni, mentors, employers, faculty, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated interest in technology and the ability to engage with topics related to software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, cloud technologies, or other emerging technologies.
  • Ability to learn, translate, and communicate technical concepts and technology career pathways to a broad range of audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with undergraduate students or in higher education programs
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience planning and delivering programs, workshops, events, mentoring initiatives, networking opportunities, or engagement activities.
  • Experience with communications, marketing, or digital content creation
  • Familiarity with STEM, technology, or related career pathways
  • Experience collecting and utilizing program data, participant feedback, and assessment results to support continuous improvement and measure program impact.

Other Requirements:

  • Occasional evening and weekend work required
  • Occasional travel to support programming and partnerships

This position is hybrid eligible

Be Bold. As the Program Manager, you will:

  • Plan and deliver programs that support student engagement, professional development, leadership development, mentorship, and career exploration.
  • Build and maintain relationships with students, alumni, faculty, employers, mentors, sponsors, and campus partners to strengthen the DTech community.
  • Coordinate events and initiatives, including workshops, networking events, mentoring opportunities, experiential learning activities, and community-building initiatives.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of students, mentors, alumni volunteers, and program participants.
  • Develop communications across email, newsletters, websites, presentations, social media, and other channels.
  • Analyze program data and feedback to improve participant experience and inform strategic decisions
  • Connect students with alumni, internships, employers, and emerging technology opportunities.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives that support DTech, Code+, and other technology-focused Special Programs.
