Carrier is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Training Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality training programs on HVAC Fundamentals and Carrier Commercial products. You will leverage your expertise in HVAC technology and your passion for education to ensure that participants gain a comprehensive understanding of key concepts and best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver in‑person and remote instructor‑led training on HVAC fundamentals
- Provide input into the development of the training material
- Deliver Carrier Commercial product training in‑person and remote instructor‑led to internal employees including product familiarization, and operation and maintenance.
- Create engaging and interactive learning experiences using a variety of instructional methods, such as presentations, demonstrations, hands‑on exercises, and simulations.
- Create class handouts and documentation as needed
- Collaborate with instructional designers to continuously improve training materials and curriculum content.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in Commercial HVAC technology to ensure training content is up‑to‑date and relevant.
- Provide guidance and support to participants during training sessions, answering questions, and offering additional assistance as needed.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain training equipment and materials, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly organized.
- Assist with the development of new training programs and initiatives based on emerging needs and feedback from stakeholders.
- Keep accurate records of training activities, participant attendance, and evaluation results. Summarize training evaluations for management reporting.
- Maintain a professional appearance and exhibit professional written and verbal skills
- Ensures adherence to all safety standards and practices, including oversight, care, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and materials.
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC
- Associate/Technical Trade School degree in HVAC technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of commercial HVAC experience focused on field service, engineers, or sales
- 5+ years of instructor experience
- Possess a high degree of knowledge and expertise in all phases of commercial HVAC including installation and service
- Ability to facilitate formal training programs across multiple technical and functional disciplines for both small and large groups.
- Ability to develop and execute accurate instructions, agendas, and training materials.
- Strong understanding of HVAC tools, equipment, and safety
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, and project management skills
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail,
- Experience in remote support online presentation and training tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
- Exceptional computer skills, with advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office suite skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) and e‑learning platforms
- Travel requirements are 20% including air and overnight travel
