NCCU Adjunct (Arts & Humanities)
North Carolina Central University (NCCU) seeks an Adjunct Professor to teach General Education courses in Arts & Humanities. The position is part of the Department of Language and Literature, which offers programs in English, Foreign Languages, and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Primary Function of Organizational UnitThe Department of Language and Literature is responsible for teaching GEC courses in English, Foreign Languages, Humanities, and Philosophy, and it houses degree programs in English, Foreign Languages and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Primary Purpose of Position- Teach General Education courses in Arts & Humanities.
- Hold 4‑8 office hours per week.
- Participate in Humanities Faculty Development Sessions.
- Classroom management
- Ability to teach classes of approximately 45 students
- Participation in department meetings
- Computer proficiency and willingness to engage in faculty development
- Experience with Canvas or other technological platforms
- Strong communication skills with students
M.A. degree minimum with 18 credit hours in English, African‑American Studies, or a related Humanities discipline.
