Overview
The Faculty of the Campbell University Department of Nursing are integral to the actualization of program objectives and the provision of quality education to students. Faculty develop and implement the curriculum to promote the development of knowledge, skills, and values deemed essential for safe, quality nursing care in a complex and changing environment. Campbell University will educate, in a Christian environment, a generalist nurse to practice in collaborative care settings with a focus on the needs of rural and underserved populations.
Nursing faculty members are responsible to the Director of the School of Nursing and to the Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Adjunct Faculty members may be assigned to teach courses or other duties each semester based on program needs, enrollment demands, and their areas of expertise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Fulfills faculty workload requirements through teaching and course-related advisement.
- Implementation of Skills Lab and integration of simulation technology within didactic and clinical curriculum.
- Evaluates theoretical components of students’ instruction (exams).
- Serve as a role model and faculty advisor for students.
- Promotes excellence in education with evidence-based strategies.
- This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity, and the ability to work in alignment with Campbell University’s Christian mission.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Master’s Degree of Nursing major required.
- Licensure as a North Carolina Registered Nurse.
- Preferred teaching experience with pre-licensure nursing students in an academic or healthcare setting.
- 2 years of recent professional clinical nursing experience.
- Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail are essential.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet, and Blackboard.
- Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
- Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
- Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
- Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
- Broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to;
Title IX, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines.
