Pay rate: $20.00 per hour | 19 hours per week (includes nights and weekends)

Position Summary

The Part‑time Library Assistant delivers a high level of quality library services ensuring the provision of value‑added experiences for all customers and performs routine tasks in support of the library. Essential

Functions
  • Promote the library’s collection and services
  • Perform circulation activities
  • Provide service desk coverage
  • Provide materials to appropriate bins for transfer
  • Provide research assistance to customers
  • Utilize integrated library systems software
  • Assist customers at several service points
  • Train and assist customers on various library policies, procedures, and processes
  • Collaborate with librarians to deliver programming and outreach services
  • Assist with volunteer management
  • Perform shelving and weeding duties
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience:

    Minimum of one year of customer service experience, including library or retail.
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted:
    Yes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of integrated library systems software.
  • Face‑to‑face customer service experience.
  • Spanish speaking – bilingual.

Computer Skills

Proficient in various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
