Job Title: Middle School Year Round Program Assistant (MS YRP PA);
part-time, non-exempt

Hours Needed: August 24, 2026 to May 2027;
Monday-Thursday 2:00-7:00 PM, + flex hours

Compensation: Base pay for this position starts at $20/hour

The Middle School Program Assistant role is designed for passionate individuals who believe fervently in the brilliance and potential of our students. The Middle School Program Assistant will work closely with the Student U Middle School Program Team to plan, prepare and implement the Year Round Program. During the school year, this person will work part-time, providing support with the day-to-day logistics of YRP.

Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-School Year Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Middle School Program Team in the planning and implementation of after-school teacher training

Support the Middle School Program Team with planning of daily program logistics

Support with development curriculum for non-academic times (Community Time, etc)

During The School Year:

Program Coordination and Logistics (40%):

Collaborate with Program Team in planning and implementing after-school teacher training.

Support Program Team with daily program logistics.

Develop curriculum for non-academic times.

Coordinate program-wide celebratory field trips/events.

Assist in managing high-quality academic spaces led by after-school staff.

Develop and maintain logistical and support systems.

Manage supplies, conduct inventory, and coordinate orders.

Student Support and Engagement (40%):

Lead student arrival, entry routine, and snack distribution.

Create a culture rooted in love and high expectations that is inclusive and supportive of all students.

Support Program Team, advise after-school teachers, and model restorative conferences.

Conduct enrichment activities with students who need restorative space.

Support students between transitions.

Supervise dismissal of car riders and buses.

Provide additional supervision throughout the day.

Academic Support and Communication (20%):

Collaborate with Program Team to support students at their schools.

Provide academic support in the absence of an after-school teacher.

Serve as a liaison among Student U, students, and families through communication channels.

Lead and own the development of support systems.

Support planning and implementation of monthly professional development.

Reflect on teaching practices and ensure high-quality instruction.

Preferred but not required:
Ability to speak Spanish or a second language
