Primary Role

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Current North Carolina teaching license, or be in the process of obtaining one
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not required
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Knows and understands the NC State Standard Course of Study to develop proficient and effective lesson plans for grade level/subject areas.
  • Establishes a safe and orderly environment and a culture to empower students
  • Manages various classroom behaviors and tries to minimize disruptions to learning
  • Participates in the MTSS process and procedures at TMSA to provide equitable and valuable education for all students
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors from the Leader In Me program that TMSA implements school wide
  • Works collaboratively with school personnel to create a professional learning community
  • Develops goals and strategies through the school improvement plan
  • Is open to constructive feedback from lead teachers, coaches, and administrators
  • Has the ability to differentiate instruction according to students' needs
  • Collaborates with colleagues to mentor and support teachers to improve the effectiveness of the department or grade level
  • Appreciates differences and values contributions of each student by building positive, appropriate relationships
  • Regularly assesses students, both formative and summative.
  • Demonstrates technology/instructional media competency to enhance learning
  • Works with parents and guardians to promote positive behavioral support and a respectful yet nurturing learning environment
  • Other duties assigned by the Principal
