Extension Program Assistant/Associate - Agriculture

Position OverviewNC State Extension extends research-based knowledge to all North Carolinians, helping them transform science into everyday solutions that improve their lives and grow our state. Working for NC State Extension allows you to teach without being tied to a classroom and school bell.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Horticulture and Agriculture Agents with programming.
- Conduct school enrichment programs and provide technical support to manage public garden facilities.
- Assist agents in facilitating Master Gardener Volunteer program.
- Be available to serve the citizens of Onslow County during disasters, if called upon.
- High school diploma or equivalent; advanced training in environmental education, horticulture, or agriculture is preferred.
- Background or experience in environmental education and/or horticulture/agriculture.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Strong organizational and people skills.
- Experience with pond management, irrigation management, or agricultural equipment is a plus.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable personal vehicle; must not have more than 3 points in a 3-year period nor any DWI convictions.
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with flexibility; occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.
Physical & Licensing RequirementsMust be able to meet the physical demands of the job; no commercial driver's license required.
