Position Title and Overview
BSN Academic Enhancement Coordinator
North Carolina Central University (NCCU) seeks a BSN Academic Enhancement Coordinator to supervise nursing student tutors, identify gaps in nursing knowledge based on testing performance analysis, and develop remediation plans to help students succeed.
Responsibilities- Supervise, orient and train professional nursing tutors
- Coordinate, develop, implement and evaluate academic course remediation activities and strategies
- Assist faculty and Academic Success Coach with early identification of at‑risk students
- Provide support and foster relationships with students experiencing personal and academic difficulty
- Conduct guided study sessions for upper‑division prelicensure BSN students
- Conduct student success workshops for faculty and staff
- Conduct academic and life‑skills coaching for upper‑division prelicensure BSN students
- Create and update marketing materials and strategies, including digital content for website and social media
- Collect and track data to provide insights into student‑level use and needs, and identify new interventions and partnerships
- Demonstrate evidence‑based best practices in coordinating student success activities
- Develop, implement, track and assess student interventions
- Master’s degree in Higher Education or related field (Doctorate preferred)
- Experience supporting at‑risk students, working in a learning center and/or knowledge of evidence‑based instructional practices
- Experience developing and implementing retention strategies
- Knowledge of university and pre‑professional curriculum requirements; knowledge of tutoring practices and principles
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to write daily reports and email correspondence
- Ability to read and interpret course materials and provide clear explanations
- Strong multi‑tasking and prioritization skills
