Primary Purpose Of Organizational UnitWorld View offers year-round professional development programs in global education to immerse K-12 and community college teachers, instructors, administrators, and staff in the rich cultures and dynamic forces that shape our world. As a program at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a part of the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs, World View is motivated by our public service mission to leverage the resource of the University to offer affordable, accessible, leading-edge programs and resources that education our state and our world.
World View programs feature scholars, journalists, business professionals, non-governmental organization experts, instructional specialists and others who bring deep knowledge and broad experience translating complex global issues and offering practical solutions for classroom engagement. Educations return to their campuses and classrooms equipped with the knowledge, best practices and resources they need to integrate global education into their curriculum and prepare their students for an interconnected and diverse world.
World View is a department within The Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs unit which has primary responsibility for shaping and implementing the University’s global strategy while supporting global activity across campus. The Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs includes Global Education, Global Partnerships, Global Research Institute, International Student and Scholar Services, Global Communications, The Duke- UNC Rotary Peace Center, and the Unified Business Center.
Position SummaryThe program coordinator promotes and markets UNC World View’s professional development programs. The program coordinator serves as writer, media professional, event planner, and understands the value of global education. The position is responsible for information management, assembly of mailings, educator inquiries, correspondence, mailing materials, data compilation, and tech backup. The program coordinator processes evaluations and provides credit for programs. The program coordinator performs duties that are essential to the success of the programs, including researching and writing news articles, and writing reports.
