Description

Are you an experienced early childhood education professional who is passionate about helping teachers grow and preparing children for kindergarten success?

Families & Communities Rising, Inc. (FCR) is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Early Childhood School Readiness Coach to support Head Start and Early Head Start classroom staff. This position will provide individualized coaching, help teachers use child and classroom data, and promote high-quality learning environments and positive outcomes for children.

What You’ll Do:
  • Coach and support teachers in data-based decision-making
  • Conduct classroom observations using the CLASS tool
  • Help teachers use assessment data to strengthen instruction and lesson planning
  • Support culturally responsive teaching and individualized learning
  • Collaborate on School Readiness Goals, the ELOF, and NCFELD
  • Help develop Professional Learning Communities and staff development opportunities
  • Share research-based practices and resources with teaching staff
  • Support recruitment, advocacy, and parent engagement activities
Requirements

What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, or a related field; master’s degree preferred
  • Five years of experience supervising or training early childhood professionals
  • Knowledge of early childhood curriculum, assessment, program planning, and quality improvement
  • Experience using ECERS, ITERS, and CLASS
  • Current CLASS certification and reliability
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and North Carolina childcare licensing requirements
