KS2 SATs Learning Support Assistant Primary Schools in Durham

Milk Education are recruiting KS2 SATs Learning Support Assistants to work across welcoming primary schools in Durham. This full-time opportunity is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced Teaching Assistants looking to make a real difference to children's confidence, attainment, and academic progress ahead of their Year 6 SATs.
You will work closely with Year 6 pupils, providing targeted intervention, small group support, and one-to-one guidance to help children develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in Reading, Writing, Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation (SPaG), and Mathematics.

Your goal is to:
- Support Year 6 pupils in preparing for their KS2 SATs
- Increase confidence and reduce test-related anxiety
- Deliver engaging intervention sessions that improve attainment
- Encourage positive attitudes towards learning
- Help pupils achieve their individual academic goals
- Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment
- Supporting Year 6 pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small intervention groups
- Delivering focused Reading, Writing, SPaG, and Maths intervention sessions
- Reinforcing classroom learning through targeted support
- Helping pupils develop effective revision and study strategies
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and resilience
- Acting as a positive role model within the classroom
- Supporting classroom routines and maintaining an engaging learning environment
- A degree or are currently studying towards one (Education, English, Maths, Psychology, or a related subject is desirable)
- Experience working with primary-aged children in schools, tutoring, coaching, or youth settings
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed academically
- The ability to motivate and inspire young learners
