We are currently hiring graduates to join Primary Schools based across North Durham. The role of a Learning Support Assistant is one which is incredibly rewarding. You have the chance to support and encourage students through their education and make it a positive transition into further learning. The forefront of your responsibility will lie in small group and 1:1 work, providing additional support for those who need it.

- Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
- Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
- Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently
- Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies
Skills:
- Must have graduated in the last 5 years from a transferable degree (psychology, coaching, education, counselling etc) (essential)
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning
- Patience and a calm approach to assisting others
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands‑on experience (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
