The Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) is looking for a Nowicki Fellow for Student Engagement to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for a recent Duke graduate to contribute meaningfully to student academic and faculty engagement across the university. You'll support existing programs and lead special projects that enhance the undergraduate experience. You'll collaborate with students, staff, and campus partners to promote intellectual community, inclusivity, and student excellence.
You’ll rotate through different divisions within OUE, gaining broad exposure to the field of undergraduate education with the possibility of matching you to areas that match your interests and strengths. From event planning to scholarship application support to communications to and other strategic needs, you’ll be at the heart of OUE’s mission to support and empower Duke students.
Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor's degree from Duke University (Class of 2022 through 2026).
- Strong administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Interest in student engagement, higher education, and inclusive practices.
- High attention to detail and willingness to help where needed.
- Experience working with student organizations or campus initiatives.
- Familiarity with event planning and program coordination.
- Skills in qualitative and quantitative research.
- Experience with communications, marketing, or social media.
- This is an on-site position based at Duke University.
As the Nowicki Fellow, you will:
- Design, schedule, plan, order food for, staff, and assess events and meetings for a diverse undergraduate and faculty audience.
- Collaborate with student groups and OUE's Student Advisory Board to promote awareness of OUE's work.
- Coordinate joint projects with campus partners.
- Conduct research, including surveys and focus groups, with attention to underrepresented student populations.
- Complete assigned administrative tasks.
- Develop and implement internal and external communications strategies.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals for various stakeholders.
- Support strategic initiatives and special projects across OUE.
