Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CASH) serves as a dynamic and interdisciplinary academic unit committed to advancing excellence in teaching, research, creative expression, professional practice, and student success. Primary Purpose of Position

The Dean of the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities provides strategic academic and administrative leadership for a newly reorganized college encompassing programs in Art & Design, Criminal Justice, History, Mass Communication, Music, Language & Literature, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work, and Theater & Dance. Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Dean serves as the chief academic officer of the College and is responsible for establishing and advancing its strategic vision, goals, and priorities.

The Dean provides executive leadership to foster an inclusive, collaborative, innovative, and high-performing multidisciplinary academic culture that advances excellence in teaching, research, professional practice, and service.
