Team Lead Responsibilities
The Team Lead is responsible for developing daily plans and assignments for their team and motivating associates within an assigned DC work area. They will report and elevate issues to area supervisors and collaborate interdepartmentally to enhance productivity, train associates, and ensure adherence to Safety guidelines and compliance to SOPs, policies, and work standards. This role operates Monday‑Friday from 3:30pm to 12:00am.
EssentialFunctions
- Adhere to all Safety, Quality, and Operational goals, policies, procedures, and standards, including reporting unsafe conditions, near misses, injuries, etc. immediately.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area that supports efficient operations.
- Prioritize work as assigned, manage the flow of day‑to‑day operations, and develop timelines and strategies for the team to achieve targeted business results.
- Provide clear and effective communication to the team in task assignment, delivery of training, and leveraging appropriate resources to keep projects on track.
- Participate in creation and distribution of documentation, generation of reports, and communication of information to keep the team updated.
- Monitor and review productivity metrics for individuals and teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy; high standards for Safety, Quality, and stewarding positive employee relations.
- Self‑motivated with proven ability to work with others, execute daily plans, and provide direction to the team with minimal supervision.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities, and ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Team collaboration, customer service, and critical thinking skills to support productivity and experience in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Ability to develop, implement, and assess performance metrics.
Education and Experience
- Employed for at least one year in the current role.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from a certified college.
- At least one year of experience performing functions in a Warehouse Management System.
- Minimum of two years of team leadership experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment (preferred).
- Experience using MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
