As part of this next phase of their growth, they're adding a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to their team who will lead complex diagnostics and root-cause analysis on high-voltage AC-DC power units, acting as the technical authority when failures occur.

Responsibilities
  • Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations on high-power AC-DC systems (50kW units, ~480V AC to up to 1000V DC).
  • Act as the technical authority when power units fail,
directing diagnostics and determining root cause
, rather than performing routine repairs.
  • Safely measure and analyze high voltages and currents (500V+ DC) using appropriate test and inspection equipment.
  • Isolate failures within the power stack
, including gate drivers, control electronics, and power semiconductor components.
  • Apply structured root cause methodologies to define what failed, why it failed, and how recurrence is prevented.
  • Communicate findings clearly across Service, Quality, and R&D teams, including European engineering stakeholders.
  • Translate complex technical diagnostics into clear, credible explanations for customers
    .
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics or failure analysis.
  • Mandatory high-voltage DC experience (500V+).
  • Strong understanding of gate driver circuits and power semiconductor behavior.
  • Practical knowledge of Silicon vs. Silicon Carbide devices and why one is selected over the other.
  • Experience inspecting circuit boards, measuring voltages/currents, and diagnosing component-level failures.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical reasoning
    , not just outcomes.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Exposure to UPS systems or comparable high-power technologies.
  • Experience with 8D analysis, FMEA, or structured RCA frameworks
    .
  • Motor control or power driver experience.
  • MATLAB or simulation tools.
  • Background in automotive power electronics (e.g. onboard chargers, high-power converters).
Why apply
  • Opportunity to join a Global EV Charging company
  • Opportunity to wear multiple hats and grow career
