Overview
We're partnered with a market leader in the charging infrastructure space who have had immense success in the US and are growing rapidly!
As part of this next phase of their growth, they're adding a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to their team who will lead complex diagnostics and root-cause analysis on high-voltage AC-DC power units, acting as the technical authority when failures occur.

- Visa sponsor ships/transfers can be provided for this role
- Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations on high-power AC-DC systems (50kW units, ~480V AC to up to 1000V DC).
- Act as the technical authority when power units fail,
directing diagnostics and determining root cause
, rather than performing routine repairs. - Safely measure and analyze high voltages and currents (500V+ DC) using appropriate test and inspection equipment.
- Isolate failures within the power stack
, including gate drivers, control electronics, and power semiconductor components. - Apply structured root cause methodologies to define what failed, why it failed, and how recurrence is prevented.
- Communicate findings clearly across Service, Quality, and R&D teams, including European engineering stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical diagnostics into clear, credible explanations for customers

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics or failure analysis.
- Mandatory high-voltage DC experience (500V+).
- Strong understanding of gate driver circuits and power semiconductor behavior.
- Practical knowledge of Silicon vs. Silicon Carbide devices and why one is selected over the other.
- Experience inspecting circuit boards, measuring voltages/currents, and diagnosing component-level failures.
- Ability to clearly explain technical reasoning
, not just outcomes.
- Exposure to UPS systems or comparable high-power technologies.
- Experience with 8D analysis, FMEA, or structured RCA frameworks
. - Motor control or power driver experience.
- MATLAB or simulation tools.
- Background in automotive power electronics (e.g. onboard chargers, high-power converters).
