You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of medium‑voltage drive and converter technologies that power a more sustainable world. At Danfoss, your work directly supports global energy efficiency and electrification goals.
As part of the Danfoss Drives Medium Voltage R&D team in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, you’ll turn advanced power electronics concepts into reliable, high‑performance products used across critical industries worldwide.

What You’ll Be Doing- Lead the design and development of power and control electronics, from concept through production, including requirements definition, schematics, component selection, and simulations.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust products on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
- Build, test, and validate prototypes, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with electrical safety standards.
- Support products throughout their lifecycle, troubleshooting issues, driving design improvements, and contributing technical expertise as products evolve.
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s or PhD) with 8+ years of hands‑on product development experience in power electronics.
- Strong technical expertise in AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters; medium‑voltage systems and SiC devices are a plus.
- Proven design skills in analog and digital circuits, PCB development (Cadence preferred), and power semiconductor devices.
- Confidence with simulation and lab tools, such as SPICE, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems, paired with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in global, cross‑functional teams, with a solid understanding of project timelines and electrical safety standards (UL, IEC, NFPA 70E).
