Do you want to work on cutting-edge defense technology that protects national security?
Do you want to design and lead mission-critical embedded systems for advanced kinetic platforms? These systems are designed and built to the highest standards, combining state-of-the-art electrical engineering with precision mechanical integration for demanding operational environments.
As an Electrical Engineer III
, you will be responsible for the design and development of embedded electrical systems used within our advanced kinetic solutions and weapon platform components. Working closely with mechanical engineers, software engineers, systems engineers, and production teams, you will play a key role in delivering reliable, compliant, and combat-effective electrical designs from concept through to operational deployment.
- Design electrical control and embedded systems for advanced kinetic platforms and ESADs
- Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and interface control documents (ICDs)
- Specify and integrate electrical components including microcontrollers, power systems, sensors, and firing circuits
- Ensure designs comply with relevant military and industry standards (e.g. MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-202, IPC-2221, IEC)
- Lead PCB design and layout processes, ensuring signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal management
- Support the prototyping, assembly, testing, qualification, and commissioning of systems
- Conduct electrical testing, environmental validation, stress testing, and failure analysis
- Liaise with suppliers, government partners, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met
- Provide technical support during field deployment and operational testing
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for electrical system issues
- Mentor junior engineers and lead sub-system development efforts
- Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical design processes, standards, and documentation practices
- Research and propose new technologies and system upgrades to enhance performance and reliability
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with focus on embedded systems
- 5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for defense, aerospace, or high-reliability applications
- Proven experience with embedded systems and hardware for military or safety-critical applications
- Proficient in electrical CAD and PCB design software (e.g. Altium Designer, Eagle, or similar)
- Strong understanding of electrical circuit design, analog/digital systems, and embedded architectures
- Knowledge of signal integrity analysis, power management, and thermal design principles
- Experience with test equipment, debugging tools (JTAG, in-circuit emulators), and embedded programming (C, C++)
- Understanding of electrical safety standards, military specifications, and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-202, and IPC-2221 (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present technical material to varied audiences
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and operational environments
