Raleigh, NC - With some travel
Need to be able to commute to Raleigh, NC on a daily basis where the product is being built and tested, with some travel to the data center site in Texas during commissioning phase.
Our client are building a next-generation power platform across large-scale data centers and this is a foundational hire: the first Technical Service Engineer (Specialist Subject Matter Expert) for a brand-new service organization.
You’ll play a critical role in the initial deployment, supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, and long-term product support, while helping replicate the service model across future sites. This is a rare chance to shape processes, teams, and strategy from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities- Lead startup and commissioning of advanced power generation systems
- Act as technical authority across mechanical and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex field issues
- Train and support onsite teams (24/7 operations)
- Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Build service processes and infrastructure from scratch
- Transition into technical advisory / product support post-deployment
- Hands-on experience in field service, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Strong mechanical foundation; working electrical knowledge
- Familiarity with switch gear, controls, and battery/energy storage is a plus
- Experience in OEM or field operations environments
- Comfortable as a jack-of-all-trades technical expert
- First SME hire – influence how the service organization is built
