** This Opportunity*
* WSP is currently initiating a search for an  
** Early Career Construction Materials Testing Professional
** for the  
** Durham, NC
** location. This candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in Construction Materials Testing, Special Inspection, and Geotechnical projects.

** Your Impact*
* + Perform testing and special inspections related to soils, reinforced concrete, and masonry on general building sites and facilities.

+ Interpret and monitor work procedures as per project plans and specifications for compliance with projects requirements.

+ Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites.

+ Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations in a timely manner.

+ Support project management tasks such as scheduling, reports review, budget tracking, invoicing, proposal writing and business development.

+ Collaborating tasks and supporting cross functional teams.

+ Work in accordance with Company safety policies.

+ Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data.

* Required Qualifications:

*
* + Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.

+ 0 - 1+ years of CMT, CQA, or related field experience.

+ Valid Driver's License and Good driving History.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as critical thinking skills, a must.

+ Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

+ Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team, to meet business objectives.

+ Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools.

+ Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience.

+ Must pass drug test, physical and background check and possess a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

+ Will be routinely lifting equipment, installing soil borings with hand augers, and carrying laboratory sample coolers etc.

* + Internship or co-operative experience in construction materials testing, laboratory testing, or geotechnical engineering

+ ACI, NCDOT, or other industry certifications

+ Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
