Occupational SummaryPerform calibration, troubleshooting, monitoring, analysis, maintenance, and repair of a variety of electric and electronic control equipment to improve Utility Plant and Building system effectiveness and efficiency. Provide technical guidance and direction to other employees; oversee and direct contractors.
Work Performed- Modify, inspect, test, calibrate, and repair various electric and electronic equipment including sensors, terminal equipment controllers, control panels, input/output panels, ultrasonic flow meters, steam meters, and relay panels by interpreting control diagrams, manufacturer specifications, and verbal or written instructions.
- Plan and lay out work; secure materials and equipment required to install new systems in accordance with control diagrams.
- Monitor and calibrate building (Siemens Apogee) and utility plant (Siemens Apogee, Honeywell HC900, Emerson Ovation) control systems to optimize operation and energy efficiency.
- Develop and schedule reports on Siemens Apogee control systems.
- Survey areas and update control graphics as needed on all control systems.
- Troubleshoot control system problems; determine cause of malfunction or system failure; advise appropriate corrective action.
- Carry out approved maintenance and repair duties per instructions and maintenance schedules.
- Analyze building heating and cooling systems; collaborate with engineers, Energy Management Group, and System Managers on preventive maintenance schedules and long-range work planning for system modifications to enhance energy and control management.
- Provide data for design and development of system modifications and maintain accurate control diagrams for building and utility plant systems.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and instruction to lower-level employees and other mechanics in troubleshooting and repair procedures; train new personnel as required.
- Work with Energy Management personnel on troubleshooting system communication issues.
- Review existing Siemens Apogee control programs and modify as required.
$25.18 to $41.63 per hour

Minimum Qualifications Education- Equivalent to a high school diploma plus 2 years of formal technical training in electricity or electronics is typically required.
- Two years of experience in the installation, inspection, testing, and repair of pneumatic, electrical, and electronic control systems; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
