Engineering Technologist III

The Engineering Technologist III position is the third level of the non‑Engineer degreed technical support role. An Engineering Technologist III provides technical expertise to solve complex problems and offers oversight and direction in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision. Employees are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work independently.

• Storm duty required in and out of the zone. Overnight travel required in and out of the zone

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and 2+ years relevant industry experience
• or Associates degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and 4+ years relevant industry experience
• In lieu of degree(s) AND relevant industry experience listed above, High School/GED and 6+ years relevant industry experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering technology
• In addition to desired degree, 5+ years related work experience
• Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of electrical power engineering
• Familiarity with evaluating existing infrastructure and upgrading as needed to support customer development
• Experience with three phase design, layout, and material selection for medium voltage power distribution systems
• AutoCAD experience
• Experience designing duct bank systems
• Ability to ensure compliance with internal design standards and specifications
• Requires high customer interaction and excellent communication
• Ability to complete cost estimates and revenue calculations

• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency with MS Office applications

• Good written and oral communication skills
• Experience in the utility industry
• Able to effectively apply basic principles of project management
• Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio‑economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills

• Hybrid Mobility Classification

• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio‑economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Valid Driver's License

• 5-15% travel required
