Job Summary

The Engineering Data Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and organizing engineering documentation and technical data, with a strong emphasis on CAD drawings and drafting standards. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of engineering files-including AutoCAD drawings-while supporting engineering and design teams with data control and document governance.

Duties and Responsibilities Engineering Data & Document Management

+ Maintain and organize engineering drawings, models, and related documentation within document management systems.

+ Control document revisions, versioning, and release processes to ensure data integrity.

+ Ensure proper file naming conventions, metadata tagging, and archiving protocols are followed.

+ Support audits and compliance initiatives related to engineering documentation.

AutoCAD / Drafting Support

+ Create, modify, and update 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.

+ Perform redline updates and incorporate engineering changes into official drawings.

+ Maintain CAD standards, templates, layers, and drafting practices.

+ Assist the Facilities team with seating plans and layout documentation.

Data Quality & Governance

+ Verify the accuracy and completeness of drawings and documentation.

+ Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

+ Standardize drawing formats, symbols, and annotation practices.

Collaboration & Support

+ Partner with Facilities, HR, and project teams to manage drawing updates.

+ Coordinate drawing releases and ensure stakeholders have access to the latest revisions.

+ Provide training and guidance on document control processes and CAD standards.

Minimum Education and Experience

+ Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field; or equivalent experience (military service applicable).

+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering document control, drafting, or CAD administration.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience supporting engineering, construction, or manufacturing environments.

+ Familiarity with industry standards (ANSI, ISO, ASME drafting standards).

+ Basic understanding of engineering design principles.

Skills and Competencies

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting and editing

+ Document control and data management

+ Version control and revision tracking

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy

+ Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Durham, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
