The Opportunity

We are seeking a senior Stormwater Engineering Leader to grow the company’s stormwater presence in North Carolina. This role combines technical leadership, project delivery, client development, and team building.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grow stormwater business opportunities through client relationships, partnerships, and industry engagement.
  • Lead strategy and innovation initiatives within the stormwater practice.
  • Build and develop a local stormwater delivery team.
  • Manage planning, design, and construction support projects, including drainage systems, channels, pump stations, storage/treatment facilities, and green infrastructure solutions.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor engineering staff.
  • Support proposals, client presentations, permits, technical reports, and design documentation.
  • Travel within North Carolina as needed, with occasional wider travel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in stormwater or water resources engineering.
  • Professional Engineering license in North Carolina (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • 5+ years managing teams and delivering stormwater projects.
  • Experience with client development, proposals, presentations, and project strategy.
  • Experience with permitting, compliance reporting, cost estimating, and bid documentation.
  • Knowledge of green infrastructure, nature-based solutions, and stormwater modelling tools (such as HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, SWMM, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team‑building skills.
Preferred
  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with FEMA floodplain requirements, CLOMR/LOMR processes, and advanced stormwater analysis.
