- 5+ years of experience in PIC / integrated photonics design
- Strong understanding of silicon photonics, silicon nitride, or related photonic platforms
- Experience designing and optimizing passive and/or active photonic components
- Proficiency with photonic simulation and design tools such as Lumerical, Ansys, or similar
- Experience with waveguide design, optical coupling, loss optimization, and device modeling
- Hands-on experience taking PIC designs from simulation → fabrication → characterization
- Familiarity with photonic packaging, fiber coupling, or optical testing is a strong plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing PICs on Aluminum Nitride (AlN), Gallium Nitride (GaN), or Silicon Nitride (SiN) platforms
- Experience with heterogeneous or III-V integrated photonics is a plus
- Familiarity with electro-optic, nonlinear, or high-power photonic devices
- Experience working with fabrication processes, PDKs, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) for photonic devices
