Job SummaryThe FP&A Manager provides critical financial analysis and reporting support to the FP&A team and business unit leaders. This individual contributor role focuses on delivering accurate financial insights, maintaining financial models, and supporting strategic initiatives across the organization. The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare analyses, develop KPI dashboards, and assist with budgeting and forecasting process.
This is a high-impact position with a high growth Private Equity backed company ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and thrives on solving complex business challenges and influencing outcomes through data-driven insights.
- 100% on-site position in Durham, NC or Wilmington, NC.
- 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
- Own and prepare financial reports and analytics for all business units, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for leadership review.
- Support business unit leaders and senior FP&A team members with revenue forecasting, pricing analysis, and margin analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario planning, revenue forecasting, capacity planning.
- Support M&A due diligence and other strategic projects, ensuring strict confidentiality and ensuring data accuracy throughout the process.
- Help design and implement new KPIs and dashboards to track performance and drive accountability across the organization.
- Prepare financial materials and presentations for board meetings and executive leadership.
- Response to data requests and perform analysis for Private Equity investors and Board of Directors.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, consolidating inputs and providing recommendations to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Support month-end close activities including revenue recognition and reporting, budget versus actuals analysis, expense trending and variance investigation.
- Support the recent ERP migration to SAP and other financial systems enhancements (Financial Statements, Power BI, etc.), providing recommendations and driving change and in process and system improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
- 5-8 years Finance Business Partnership and FP&A experience, preferably with experience in Private Equity portfolio company in life sciences (CDMO ideally) industry experience.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills required.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment and/or laboratory service organization preferred.
- CPA/MBA preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and financial planning tools; SAP and Power BI experience a plus.
- Previous CDMO experience highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail oriented.
- Exceptional organizational and reporting skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Office Suite, Salesforce and database management.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Excel for data manipulation.
- Strong business acumen.
- Organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with sales teams as well as marketing, product, research, and administrative teams.
- Ability to convert analyses and conclusions into easily understandable and persuasive presentations.
- Ability to access data from an array of databases and provide recommendations on effective use in decision-making of disparate data sets.
- High level of personal & professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic.
- Works independently with a high degree of self-motivation.
- Up to 10% travel expected.
