The City of Durham offers an Office of the Mayor Communications & Leadership Internship, designed for motivated students pursuing public service careers. This in-person program provides hands-on experience in executive leadership, municipal government, and community engagement.
Interns work with the Mayor and senior staff across communications, policy, and project coordination, with flexible hours 8:30 am–5 pm EST, about 15 hours per week, through August to January 2027.
