Shift: day shift, 5 8's, weekends rotated as needed
General Description
Performs specialized technical and patient-care activities focused on the application of ambulatory ECG (Holter and MCT/Event) monitors and the analysis of recorded ECG data. Primary responsibilities include placing monitors on patients, instructing patients on proper use, and analyzing digitized ECG recordings to generate accurate quantitative arrhythmia reports for physician review.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply, remove, and manage ambulatory ECG (Holter and MCT/Event) monitors for adult and pediatric populations in the inpatient and outpatient spaces, ensuring proper placement and signal quality.
- Educate patients on monitoring procedures, equipment use, activity and symptom diary documentation, and data transmission requirements.
- Analyze digitized ECG recordings using specialized software to identify arrhythmias and clinically relevant events.
- Edit and validate ECG dataand generate comprehensive quantitative arrhythmia reports for physician interpretation.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance, including lead review and recorder function checks.
- Maintain accurate patient schedules, procedure logs, and monitoring records.
- Maintain databases for archiving diagnostic recordings and perform routine data backups to the computer network.
- Prepare patient rooms and maintain stock of monitoring supplies, including electrodes, leads, and related materials.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
Work requires completion of an Associate's degree in Health Science or any Allied Health field
ExperienceWork generally requires one year of experience in a related health care setting. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
