About the Role As a Forensic CST Peer Support Specialist, you will work closely with the Forensic CST team to assist clients in developing wellness strategies, practicing self-advocacy, navigating community resources, and strengthening natural supports. Services are delivered in the community and are guided by the principles of recovery, empowerment, and person-centered care in alignment with the Forensic CST model.
Position Highlights:
Build trusting, recovery-oriented relationships with clients by using lived experience to model hope and resilience.
Support client engagement through community outreach, regular check-ins, and assistance with daily living and coping skills.
Encourage self-advocacy and help clients navigate behavioral health, legal, and social service systems.
Collaborate with the treatment team to provide recovery-focused input, promote housing stability, and ensure continuity of care.
Must have experience working with individuals transitioning back to the community from incarceration.

Compensation This position is a fixed rate, with compensation aligned to role responsibilities, experience, and contract parameters.
Compensation: $21.15

Work with the treatment team to support client goals, wellness, and recovery.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification / Licensure Requirements:
Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist in the state of North Carolina Experience / Knowledge Requirements:
Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery
Prior justice system involvement is preferred.
