The Guest Service Agent is responsible for providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Register guests and assign rooms. Accommodate special requests whenever possible.
  • Adhere to proper credit, check‑cashing, and cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Understand room status and tracking.
  • Know room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to promote rooms and other hotel services.
  • Coordinate room status updates with housekeeping by notifying of all check‑outs, late check‑outs, early check‑ins, special requests, and day‑use rooms.
  • Process guest check‑outs.
  • Ensure accurate inter‑departmental pass‑on each shift and stay aware of daily hotel activities and meetings.
  • Report unusual occurrences or requests to the Front Office Supervisor or Manager.
  • Know all safety and emergency procedures and accident‑prevention policies.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
  • Show flexibility in scheduling to accommodate business needs.
  • Follow all established front desk procedures.
  • Provide high‑level service while registering guests promptly, efficiently, and courteously.
  • Handle guest accounts properly, including posting charges, collecting payment, and maintaining strict guest security regarding keys and information.
  • Be knowledgeable of property information and provide accurate nearby area information.
  • Receive guest requests or complaints, own them, and follow up until resolved to guest satisfaction; involve supervisors as necessary.
  • Work closely with housekeeping to keep room status current and up to date.
  • Assist guests with requests in collaboration with Bell staff.
  • Maintain bank accuracy and security, close out shift bank, balance, and deposit.
  • Shift priorities and duties as directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment required for the job.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and leaders.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Capability to see tasks through to completion.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good knowledge and verbal, reading, and writing proficiency in English; bilingual a plus.
EDUCATION
  • High School diploma, general education degree, or international equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of two years of customer service experience, preferably in a resort/hotel front office environment.
  • Opera PMS experience preferred.
PHYSICAL ABILITY
  • Maintain prolonged periods on feet and alertness.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
  • Continuous use of hands and arms.
  • Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting.
  • Maintain a strong personal image and uniform standards.
