As the Deep Tech Program Research Data Tech II, you ll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that supports groundbreaking work in AI, semiconductors, and deep technologies.

The Deep Tech Program explores how artificial intelligence, quantum computing, advanced semiconductors, and other deep technologies shape society and public policy. In this role, you will support program operations, project management, communications, and research initiatives connected to Duke s partnership with OpenAI and an upcoming Spring 2026 AI Infrastructure event.

What You ll Do
  • Draft content for newsletters, blog posts, and social media to highlight research and programming.
  • Support projects in the AI Metascience program associated with Duke s OpenAI partnership.
  • Assist in the planning, outreach, and execution of the Spring 2026 AI Infrastructure event.
  • Collaborate with associates, faculty, and student researchers across the Deep Tech sectors to produce crosssector insights and outputs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree required; coursework or experience in technology policy, engineering, or public policy preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, semiconductor policy, or other deep technologies.
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Anticipated Pay Range

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $19.06 to USD $28.85. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate s work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
