Job Summary
Power Secure is seeking a passionate AWS Systems Architect who can design and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable systems that meet our customer needs. You will work closely with the software development team to define system requirements, develop architecture designs, and maintain system solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a significant impact on the company's cloud strategy and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
Minimum Qualifications- 4 years of experience in AWS Cloud architecture or a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline (or 4 years of relevant experience in place of education).
- Experience developing and deploying applications on Linux, UNIX, Windows, containers, and serverless technologies.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., AWS CDK, Cloud Formation, Terraform, OpenTF).
- Familiarity with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Open Shift).
- Experience with SQL (e.g., MySQL, Red Shift, Postgres, SQL Server) and No
SQL databases (e.g., Redis, Mongo
DB, Time Stream). - Proficiency in object‑oriented programming languages such as Python, Type Script, or Java.
- Experience developing and integrating stateful, stateless, and event‑driven microservices and their hosted APIs.
- Experience with Git version control systems (Git Hub, Git Lab) and developing/maintaining Dev Sec Ops CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with unit/integration testing and debugging Linux/Unix systems.
- Experience developing and scripting in BASH, SQL, No
SQL, etc. - Familiarity with Network Routing and NAT translation mechanisms.
- Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., TCP, UDP, Modbus, MQTT).
- Familiarity with diesel generators, energy storage systems, solar inverters, and microgrids.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and advanced problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communicator and collaborator within cross‑functional teams.
- Detail‑oriented and capable of identifying, researching, and resolving issues in code and architectural resources.
- Assist in provisioning and maintaining AWS cloud services resources.
- Collaborate with other Engineers, Developers, DBAs, and System Administrators when designing new or improving existing cloud solutions.
- Implement industry cloud best practices for security, performance, cost, & resiliency in all aspects of design & implementation.
- Support, enhance and monitor AWS services including analytics, infrastructure, networking, user access management, security, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
- Manage and maintain IAM, user access, user groups and permissions for users including assigning roles and permissions, support third‑party IAM integrations and other security tools as needed across all environments.
- Provide network infrastructure support for connectivity, configuration, performance, security, and reliability.
- Orchestrate, provision, monitor, audit and manage EC2 instances and other AWS services for optimal performance, availability, and resource utilization including backup and restores.
- Provide support for and monitor VPCs, NACLs, NSGs, and DNS services.
- Troubleshoot OS issues, EC2 patch management, application software patching, and address vulnerabilities.
- Support and manage various AWS Services such as Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, Config, RDS, Redshift, Dynamo
DB. - Experience building using container orchestration and management services such as Docker Swarm, Red Hat Open Shift, or Kubernetes.
- Promote continual improvement through automation of existing cloud tools & Dev Sec Ops CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve upon existing cloud monitoring tools & alerting for cloud‑hosted systems to ensure cloud systems’ availability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency are optimal.
- Troubleshoot issues with application deployments.
- Create and maintain knowledge articles, SOPs, and required configuration management artifacts such as build and release artifacts.
- Hybrid role with minimum travel.
- The primary office is located in Durham, NC.
