Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer to support and modernize enterprise infrastructure within the insurance and financial services industry. The Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer role is ideal for a hands‑on engineer with experience balancing legacy systems and modern cloud, automation, and reliability practices. This is a direct placement role that requires working on site in Durham, NC three days per week.
Responsibilities- Design and maintain synthetic monitoring for applications, services, and APIs.
- Build dashboards, alerts, and telemetry to improve observability and reliability.
- Automate operational tasks using Power Shell, Python, or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code for cloud and infrastructure resources.
- Troubleshoot cloud, SaaS, and hybrid infrastructure issues.
- Bachelor of Science Degree.
- Experience supporting both traditional infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Strong background in monitoring, observability, and alerting tools.
- Scripting and automation experience (Power Shell, Python, or similar).
- Hands‑on experience with AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and tools.
- Experience with Windows Server and Entra (Azure AD).
- $110,000 – $140,000 base + bonus + LTI.
