Provide operational support as part of a cross‑functional IT Infrastructure team, and assist in the maintenance and administration of automated control and IT systems during the OFP site Durham project and its future operations. Responsible for the configuration, installation, and working condition of the automation equipment control systems and computer information systems throughout the facility, including the site ERP systems, SAP.
This position will train on the first shift and then move to the third shift (10 pm‑6:30 am, Monday through Friday).
Reports to Manager.
Essential Functions- Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, WAPs, etc.) and infrastructure systems (monitoring tools, network management systems, etc.)
- Hands‑on work with hardware and software, including server room and patch room build‑outs
- Operate infrastructure network equipment and systems under FDA regulations and guidelines as they relate to computer‑based information and automation systems
- Provide tier 1‑2 IT network support, including after‑hours
- Provide tier 1‑2 server administration and support for onsite virtual servers
- Provide tier 1 support of site ERP system, SAP, including iDoc monitoring, analysis, and resolution
- Act as liaison between site end users and HQ end‑user support for the site ERP system, SAP
- Provide ad‑hoc production support and after‑hours support to the site for IT‑related issues
- Inventory control of patch cables, video cables, peripherals, and other IT items
- Maintain network and infrastructure documentation in accordance with corporate requirements
- Support backup and restore processes for manufacturing systems
- Interacts with equipment and service vendors for troubleshooting, installation, and improvement of reliability and efficiency
- Perform life‑cycle system management tasks in conjunction with corporate IT teams for network and infrastructure systems
- Participate in corporate infrastructure guidance groups
- Provide superior customer service
- Identify, report, and possibly recommend corrective action for any unsafe conditions to a supervisor or department manager
- Adhere to safety procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), safety glasses, lockout procedures, confined space protocols, and other company policies and procedures
- Follow cGMPs and ensure products are manufactured according to procedure and current good manufacturing practices
- Maintain training readiness
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other duties as assigned
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10 % of the time (percent may change on a case‑by‑case basis based on the role).
