Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to support a technology-driven organization within the insurance and financial services industry. The Senior Technical Program Manager role is ideal for a TPM who specializes in aligning engineering, development, and business teams, ensuring workflows remain coordinated as priorities, systems, and dependencies change across groups. The Senior Technical Program Manager is a direct placement with the company and requires you to sit onsite in Durham, NC 3 days per week.
Responsibilitiesof the Senior Technical Program Manager:
- Partner closely with the CIO as well as with engineering, development, product, and business teams to ensure cross-team workflows stay aligned as changes occur.
- Maintain portfolio-level visibility across multiple technical initiatives and product squads.
- Manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and execution impacts, surfacing issues early.
- Translate technical delivery metrics into clear business insights for leadership.
- Drive consistent reporting, delivery discipline, and change management practices.
- Support at-risk initiatives by identifying root causes and coordinating resolution across teams.
- 8+ years of project or program management experience, including 3+ years leading complex technical programs.
- Bachelor's Degree is Required
- Strong experience working with software engineering and development teams.
- Proven ability to manage dependencies and workflow impacts across multiple teams.
- Experience translating technical execution into business-level risks and trade-offs.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ) and a proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and varied personalities.
- $140,000 - $155,000 + bonus + 7.5% LTI
