BCforward is currently seeking highly motivated Field Support Specialist for an opportunity in Raleigh, NC 27609.

Expected Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Job Type: Full Time (>=40 hrs weekly), Contract, On‑site
Pay Range: $45.00/HR – $50.00/HR
Actual compensation may vary within this range based on location, experience, and job responsibilities and does not include benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.
Responsibilities and Skills Required- Day‑to‑day Field Support: on‑site support across all services utilizing ITIL service processes of change, incident, release and configuration management.
- Implement new releases of service components into the operational environment following well‑defined processes.
- Perform moves, adds and changes to service components.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve problems and incidents related to service components including routers, firewalls, switches, gateways, cable infrastructure and communications software and protocols.
- Perform site surveys, assessments and physical inventories.
- Work with analysts and specialists to resolve incidents and problems.
- Work with analysts and specialists to perform changes.
- Install new equipment and infrastructure (cabling, switches, patch panels, VOIP, firewall, routers, APs) at customer locations.
- Ensure availability of proper equipment for site visits including tools, cables and hardware.
- Work with vendors for equipment implementation assistance.
- Consult with clients and arrange site visits.
- Maintain standard approved IOS configurations.
- Configure hardware and make changes as needed.
- Continue expanding knowledge on services supported by the team.
- Perform 15% administrative duties: data management, inventory control, vehicle assignment, documentation.
- Update records with WAN inventory staff and Service Desk regarding employee hardware and IT asset disposal.
- Maintain equipment inventory to support day‑to‑day operations.
- Perform physical inventories.
- Use NSWAN database and Remedy Asset database.
- Maintain equipment storage locations and assigned state vehicles per the DOA Motor Fleet handbook.
