Labcorp is seeking a Business Relationship Manager in either Durham, NC or Indianapolis, IN. The role is full‑time, exempt (salaried), assigned to a First Shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility as needed. Applicants within 35 miles will follow a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three in‑office days per week.

Job Summary

The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as a liaison between IT and the business, managing IT efforts for one or more Business Departments. The BRM translates business needs into technical requirements and vice versa, prioritizes projects, ensures alignment with technology and ROI, and directs IT strategy to support overall business goals. The role also facilitates communication, organizes business requirements, understands processes and priorities, evaluates and recommends technology to enhance operations, and maintains long‑range technology strategies tied to business imperatives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with the user community.
  • Understand business processes and priorities.
  • Coordinate and partner with business to work with IT, ensuring projects follow IT governance.
  • Provide due diligence answers to technology/system questions from users.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, applications development, and suppliers for timely, accurate, cost‑effective IT solutions.
  • Provide recommendations for technology business requirements, objectives, budgets, and timelines.
  • Lead business needs/requirements and priorities for assigned areas.
  • Guide pre‑project business solution design through IT governance processes.
  • Evaluate alternative vendor and technology solutions and make technology recommendations.
  • Lead development of functional business requirements and help assess relative priorities.
  • Develop user process maps, test plans, and training materials.
  • Participate in training and user testing.
  • Support the Applications Development team with discretionary and non‑discretionary requests.
  • Assist in Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8+ years of Business / functional and IT experience.
  • 8+ years of experience working with customers, identifying/understanding needs, and documenting business requirements.
  • 8+ years of experience forging strong relationships with business and IT staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years Project Management experience.
  • 2+ years experience working with external vendors/suppliers.
  • 2+ years experience managing virtual teams.
  • 2+ years experience with Phase 2‑4 business processes and challenges.
  • 2+ years experience implementing global IT solutions in scientific environments.
  • 2+ years experience working in a large clinical development business with a matrixed structure and understanding of Drug Development.
  • 2+ years experience in business process modeling and design.
  • 2+ years experience managing offshore sourcing providers.
  • 2+ years experience in big Pharma.
  • 2+ years strong IT, operational, financial, and strategic planning/development experience.
  • 2+ years working in a global, multicultural organization across national boundaries.
  • 2+ years performing presentations and leading meetings.
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience.
