Responsibilities

We are seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to support and modernize a cloud‑focused application and infrastructure environment. This role blends infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, and light application support
, with a strong emphasis on AWS, Terraform, Apache services, and observability
.

The team is actively moving deeper into cloud‑native Dev Ops practices, and this position exists to support increasing cloud workloads, infrastructure automation, and production stability. While this is not a pure application‑development role, candidates should be comfortable supporting Java/Spring Boot applications when infrastructure or platform updates are required.

This role is well suited for someone with a systems or infrastructure engineering background who has evolved into Dev Ops through hands‑on cloud work.

  • Design, build, and maintain AWS‑based infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Support and enhance cloud and on‑prem environments, including Linux servers and Tomcat deployments
  • Manage and maintain Apache services, including proof‑of‑concept and service integrations
  • Containerize and deploy applications using Docker
  • Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and deployment automation tools such as uDeploy
  • Work with observability and monitoring tools for logs, metrics, and alerting
  • Support reverse proxy and traffic routing solutions, including Envoy
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams on production support, upgrades, and process improvement
  • Apply and enforce engineering standards aligned with established technology roadmaps
  • Assist with application updates when required (primarily Spring Boot–based services)
  • Participate in cloud architecture discussions and solution design within the business unit
Experience Requirements

Must have:

  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services
  • Hands‑on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
  • Experience managing Apache web services
  • Working knowledge of Docker containerization
  • Experience with Linux environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, uDeploy, Artifactory, Sonar, Service Now)
  • Experience supporting Java / Spring Boot applications from an infrastructure or platform perspective
  • Exposure to observability practices (log monitoring, metrics, alerting)
  • Experience with Envoy or similar proxy tools is a plus
  • Experience with Angular / Type Script is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and support production systems
Nice To Have
  • Angular/Type Script experience (preferred).
  • AI‑driven anomaly detection, alert routing, and incident triage experience (preferred).
Education Requirements
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • AWS certification (preferred).

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.

W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pre‑tax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked‑in state/locality.
