Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance

Work Schedule: Fulltime Onsite M-F

Role Overview:

The JICO Instructor supports the JID-TC responsibilities at Fort Liberty, NC, as the JCS proponent for the Joint Tactical Operations (JTO) Interface Training Program, with the objective of ensuring that operational forces can exploit the full capability of JTO Interface Systems. Support covers the full range of functions required to plan, develop, coordinate and manage the JTO training program to include courseware development and world-wide formal academic training and joint exercise support to support joint, allied and coalition air and ground forces in the employment of JTO Interface capabilities.

Annually conduct approximately 30 Joint/U.S. Training Courses (CONUS and OCONUS) producing approximately 2000 graduates, and 30 Allied Training Courses (OCONUS) producing approximately 500 graduates for 10 allied nations.

Specific Skillset
  • Develop curriculum, conduct instruction, and maintain JID courses
  • Liaison with operational Combatant Commander staffs for exercise planning and preparation.
  • Prepare or review OPTASK LINK messages for use in JTO exercises.
  • Assist in selection, modification, or request of Link 16 networks to support JTO exercises.
  • Perform analysis of multi-TDL architecture performance and institute changes based on observations.
  • Coordinate with development and acquisition agencies for procurement of, and evaluate JICO automated tools.
  • Maintain configuration management of the JICO automated tools.
  • Operate the Link 16 Pulse Deconfliction Server (LPDS) and assist users with Frequency Clearance and Time Slot Duty Factor (TSDF) issues.
  • Represent JID at joint and combined interoperability working groups.
  • Provide course planning and administration, which includes development and maintenance of schedules, scheduling hands‑on field training, student briefs, handouts and administrative documents, and student notification processes.
  • Develop, instruct, revise, and maintain JID course materials.
  • Perform curriculum reviews, courseware development, and multimedia enhancements, especially in an electronic classroom.
  • Support world-wide deployed mobile training team requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements Education & Certifications
  • Associates Degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and related experience.
  • JT-301 Course Completion
Experience Requirements
  • 4 years JICO experience or a combination of JICO and/or other directly related experience, e.g. Air Battle Manager/Air Weapons Officer/Intercept Control Officer
  • Experience with Variable Message Format over Combat Net Radio (VMF over CNR) and/or Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DACAS) highly desired.
  • Multi TDL experience or training.
  • Military instructor experience.
  • SD or curriculum development experience
