Sr Data Scientist

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to help drive the organization’s next generation analytics and Artificial Intelligence initiatives. This individual will partner closely with business leaders and technical teams to identify opportunities where advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI create measurable business value. The role combines deep analytical expertise with strong business acumen, helping transform ideas into practical solutions that improve decision making, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.

• Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-impact analytics and AI opportunities
• Develop predictive models, machine learning solutions, and AI-powered applications
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical business use cases
• Deliver insights and recommendations that support strategic business decisions
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to ensure data is accessible, accurate, and scalable
• Design experiments and proof-of-concepts to validate business value
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and executive audiences
• Assist in establishing best practices for AI and advanced analytics initiatives
• Accelerate business decision-making through modern analytics and AI capabilities

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong experience in machine learning, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience delivering measurable business outcomes from analytics initiatives

• Experience with Generative AI technologies
• Experience building AI-driven products or business solutions
• Experience with in Microsoft Azure environments
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
• Retail, consumer products, manufacturing, or supply chain analytics experience
• Experience operationalizing machine learning models in enterprise environments

Expert Level

Contract to Hire – Durham, NC

• Hourly rate: $70.00–$95.00 per hour
