At Duke Health, we're driven by a commitment to compassionate care that changes the lives of patients, their loved ones, and the greater community. No matter where your talents lie, join us and discover how we can advance health together. About Duke Health Technology Solutions Pursue your passion for caring and innovation with Duke Heath Technology Solutions, which is dedicated to the transformation, development, and management of enterprise information technology solutions across Duke Health.

By harnessing the power of innovative technologies like cloud computing and artificial intelligence — and pairing them with a forward-thinking approach — Duke Health Technology Solutions is revolutionizing the future of health care at Duke Health and beyond.

General Summary Duke Health is establishing a Digital Enablement Team to provide a durable through line from rapid innovation to value measurement, readiness assessment, scale decision, and transition to long-term ownership. The Project Manager is central to this team, owning the delivery and transition engine that moves digital and AI-enabled capabilities from pilot to scaled, sustainable operation. If coordinating complex, cross-functional digital health work energizes you, please read on.

Work Duties and Responsibilities The Project Manager orchestrates programs and projects across multiple teams, dependencies, and timelines in support of the digital strategy roadmap. Key and routine activities include:

  • Orchestrate program and project delivery across enablement work streams, strike teams, and dotted-line partners.
  • Manage readiness and go-live for pilots, releases, and transition milestones.
  • Maintain risk, issue, and dependency logs with clear escalation paths.
  • Coordinate change across business, technology, and operational owners.
  • Develop and execute transition plans that move capabilities into sustainable long-term service ownership.
  • Prepare reports and preliminary analyses setting forth progress and adverse trends.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level Demonstrate clear, concise communication with the ability to distill multiple stakeholder perspectives into key points. Possess strong time-management skills and the ability to advance multiple work streams on schedule. Exhibit superior attention to detail and disciplined dependency and risk management. Familiarity with Epic delivery, release coordination, and pilot-to-production transitions preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum frameworks, with hands-on experience leading or coordinating work in sprints — including backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Ability to manage an iterative, sprint-based cadence across concurrent work streams while maintaining predictable delivery. Proficiency with project, portfolio, and Agile management tools (e.g., Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Microsoft Planner / Project).

Strong facilitation, escalation, and stakeholder-communication skills across clinical, technical, and operational audiences. Knowledge of healthcare IT delivery, Epic release processes, and structured transition into service ownership.

Education & Training Work requires analytical, communications, and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. If no bachelor's degree, four years of equivalent experience required. PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience Four years of related program / project management experience, preferably in healthcare IT or digital delivery, including experience working in Agile / sprint-based teams.
