Meta Metrics, Inc., an educational measurement and research company best known for the Lexile and Quantile frameworks, is seeking a Senior Psychometrician to advance our large-scale assessment and learning analytics programs. In this role, you will design, calibrate, and validate assessments using IRT and Rasch models, lead studies on reliability, validity, and fairness, and analyze large educational datasets to inform products used by schools, publishers, and edtech partners worldwide.

You'll collaborate closely with experts in psychometrics, data science, and learning sciences in a research-driven, innovative culture focused on improving student outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to publish technical work, shape industry-leading measurement frameworks, and contribute directly to tools that connect student ability with targeted instructional resources.

Responsibilities

  • Design, calibrate, and validate educational assessments using advanced psychometric models
  • Conduct item response theory (IRT) and Rasch analyses to support Lexile and Quantile frameworks
  • Lead technical studies on reliability, validity, and fairness of large-scale assessments
  • Analyze large educational datasets to generate insights for partners and product teams
  • Document methodologies and results in technical reports and research publications
  • Collaborate with data science, product, and content teams on measurement solutions
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in educational measurement
  • Support innovation in linking assessments to instructional resources and learning analytics
