Site Reliability Engineer

As part of the Persistence Team, you'll help deliver large-scale Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS), managing distributed data across global private datacenters and AWS while ensuring reliable operations, resilience, and zero-downtime migrations across the Cisco Collaboration Suite.

You'll work with a globally distributed team of database experts, technical leads, architects, and security teams across the Webex portfolio. Together, you'll maintain high availability, support US Federal compliance, and participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation during your region's daytime hours.

** Your impact*
* Design and implement large-scale solutions for Cassandra, Kafka, and Open Search across hybrid AWS and private cloud environments. Lead cloud engineering initiatives using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes to improve service reliability, deployment velocity, and operational efficiency.

Drive capacity planning and performance tuning for high-throughput production systems while ensuring data integrity through automated backup, security patching, and incident management workflows. Partner with application teams as a technical consultant, providing guidance on data access patterns and cloud migration strategies.

** Minimum Qualifications*
* + 5+ years hands on experience (deploy, monitor, scale, and upgrades) with distributed database technology such as Cassandra DB, Open search, Kafka, PostgreSQL

+ 3+ Years  managing AWS infrastructure at scale.

+ 3+ Years experience with infrastructure automation and Dev Ops practices such as CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI) and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes), Python

+ 3+ years experience supporting live production systems for customer facing software as a service

+ 2+ years of experience leading technical projects, including responsibility for design, development, testing and implementation

** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Exposure to modern data platforms including data pipelines, streaming systems, AL/ML and GenAI workloads

+ Experience writing data driven applications in Java or Python and familiarity with data access patterns in software

+ Experience in regulated US Federal environments
