About Carpe
Carpe is the fastest growing deodorant brand in the US. Our team is composed of about 30 insanely smart people working together in person in downtown Durham, NC. Our office is rather open with many private niches, and our energy level is HIGH.
About the RoleOur website is where people decide whether or not they believe us, and we want someone whose job is to keep making it better, week after week.
The site is on Shopify. If you haven't worked in it before, that's fine, as long as you've built webpages on your own and put them in front of real customers. Liquid takes about a week to pick up and we'll help you with it.
You'll get plenty of opinions along the way. The head of our ecommerce business has them, and so does the conversion consultant we work with, who brings research to back hers up. We want you to take all of that in, weigh it, and then decide what actually ships. The outcome is yours either way.
What You Will Do- Design, build and ship landing pages, funnels and on-site experiences that get more people to buy
- Run our testing program from start to finish, from framing a test and building it through to reading the results and shipping whatever won
- Watch session recordings and use what people are actually doing on the site to decide what to build next
- Make sure every page looks right on every screen size, with phones as the priority
- Keep the design system consistent so the site holds together as it grows
- Find your own broken states, slow loads and copy mistakes before a customer runs into them
- You've designed and built webpages yourself and taken them all the way to live, rather than handing them to someone else to finish
- You've run A/B tests on a live site and can walk us through what came out of them
- You have a portfolio of site work with actual results attached
- You use AI coding tools to build your own designs
- You design for phones first, and it's obvious from your work
- You have good taste and can explain the reasoning behind it
- You care about the result, not only the design
- You listen to feedback and still make your own decisions
- You want to be one of the best at this
- You've worked at a DTC brand, or somewhere else where conversion was the whole game
- You've built or modified Shopify themes
- You've run a testing program yourself, rather than contributing to someone else's
- You pay attention to page speed and accessibility without anyone asking you to
This is the part of the business where design has a direct line to revenue. Every customer we have will interact with something you built, and you'll be able to ship quickly, test whatever you want, and see whether the numbers move. Most designers never get that kind of feedback loop. Here you would.
What You Will Get- Health, vision and dental
- A close-up view of one of the fastest growing brands in body care
