8:00 am - 5:00 pm (weekends as necessary for mid-year and year-end inventory and project rollouts)
Position SummaryThis role reports to the Supply Chain Director and is responsible for the execution of supply chain strategies for perioperative services
. This includes the optimization of logistics, synchronizing supply and demand, measuring performance, embedding leading practices, and ensuring continuous improvement. The Associate Director will manage the day‑to‑day operations of the supply chain and associated functions, including staffing, training, budget, policies, and overall performance management. Key areas of responsibility involve guiding the optimization and standardization of all supply chain automation tools and software within the hospital, which encompasses:
- Management of supplies, logistics, laundry and linen services, receiving, and inventory.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for clinical staff regarding high‑volume case‑load support, access to Epic and ordering screens, and managing all requisitioning.
- The utilization of point‑of‑use inventory management processes and technologies.
- Balancing logical unit of measure replenishment processes with the deployment of bulk inventory methodologies, where appropriate.
Leadership and Operational Management
- Provide leadership for supply chain associates relative to supplies, logistics, laundry and linen services, receiving, and inventory management.
- Lead and manage managers and supervisors, including setting goals, providing guidance, and evaluating performance.
- Plan, coordinate, and administer the financial, administrative, and technical operations of the supply chain.
- Provide budget approval and manage budgetary planning and objectives, initiating corrective action as necessary.
- Oversee the performance and productivity levels of supply chain associates.
- Responsible for 6 direct reports.
- Ensure appropriate staffing models, tools, and resources are in place to complete daily duties and meet supply chain commitments.
- Monitor and report quality and productivity metrics, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non‑clinical leadership to develop and maintain programs and processes designed to ensure compliance with service delivery standards.
- Implement and manage customer Service Level Agreements (SLA) and surveys.
- Serve as an operational and technical resource representing the supply chain.
- Act as a point of escalation for internal and external key stakeholders and the supply chain team.
- Collaborate and negotiate resolution for issues related to the supply chain.
- Model and foster a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities for efficiency, elimination of waste, and risk mitigation.
- Serve as an exceptional cross‑functional collaborator, both internally and externally with strategic suppliers.
- Be open to objective discussion and move forward with absolute commitment once recommendations and decisions are reached.
- Participate in the interview process and candidate selection of new supply chain managers and supervisors.
- Oversee and administer the training and education of supply chain associates to ensure high levels of quality and productivity.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures, to ensure ethical and compliant behavior.
- Serve as a leader and role model within the organization.
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of surgical products, knowledge of the operating room (OR), and comfortable in an OR environment.
